Gaming goal for 2013
I think I have a gaming goal now for 2013. It’s not too terribly difficult of one though.
I’m going to try and finish all of my remaining Gamecube games. There’s not too terribly many of them left though.
1. Zelda: Wind Waker (I played this in 2003 nearly to the end. I just restarted tonight and I’m down to the final sequence of 5 bosses. I’ve finished the room with...

Stargate & Tapwave...
I was watching Stargate Season 8, in particular, the episode “Endgame”
Carter’s using a device at 16:16 to scan alien technology… That device? A tapwave zodiac game system/PDA. Also, I just spotted it in Stargate Atlantis too.
Almost as amusing as the manual controls on Farscape being a painted Trackman Marble FX trackball.

Persona 3 Portable
I may be looking at finishing my very first Shin Megami Tensei games. I’ve always appreciated them, but found it hard to play them all the way to the end. I’m now about 40 in-game days away from the ending, and feeling pretty good about it.
I’m surprised at how many social links I was able to finish, given that I didn’t have any grasp on the optimal way to get them all.

After Haruhi Suzumiya and Memento shows seem to be more free to mix up their timelines and scramble them up by attempting to make the shows more interesting. With Haruhi, the series was pretty good even in chronological order even if the storyline made more sense out of order. With Memento, it…
Frankly, I have to agree. The storyline of Baccano is a bit average....

The ending is so freaking good!! Even if it was a big reveal! Even if I still don’t really like the romance part… It’s also a pretty good advertisement for the next game, if only that comes to the US…

Apples and Oranges comparison here. 3DS released before a holiday season, so by this point they had gone through a Christmas buying period. Also, the 3DS released in a time when games retail was stronger. I wouldn’t compare them until after Christmas.

For those who don’t remember the original, it came out right around the same time Doom did. It was this weird hybrid, and even came up with some of the ideas that modern games use. You could have 2 weapons at a time, dual wielded pistols and one heavy weapon. It was square-block-based like Wolf3D, but you had a certain degree of vertical movement in it.
I played the game quite a bit. I...

While it’s mildly pointless to breadcast in 33mpix for general purposes, I can perfectly understand SHOOTING and Storing video in 33mpix, then using digital zoom to carve out the bit that you want them to focus on. You can use one camera for each angle and capture every possible shot you might want to have from that angle.

The only reason that any of these phones use FAT is because Microsoft is difficult to work with on getting other file systems supported in their system… I think it’s time to abandon FAT in linux devices and switch to EXT3, and then find some way to do a userspace driver to expose the files to windows.

This is the problem with the soundbyte media we have these days. Whenever I hear the “abolish estate taxes” thing, I never hear about what people want to replace it with. Using it as a capital gains tax (Perhaps still at the very high rate that estate taxes have) would be better than the estate tax itself.

While it is true that Cerf’s early work was funded by DARPA, the internet languished in obscurity and failed to reach its potential when it was under the government and publically funded universities, and only really took off when private companies started getting involved with it.
